OPEN AIR BURNING
Open Air burning permits will start being issued on
Monday January 7, 2008 for the open air burning season that starts on
Tuesday January 15, 2008
You may obtain an open air burning permit at the
Dighton Communications Center located at
1551 Somerset Ave. (Dighton Police Station)
OPEN AIR BURNING WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
1) Burning is allowed from January 15 to May 1.
2) Burning is allowed from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. with daily permission.
3) An adult must be present at all times making sure the fire is out before leaving it.
4) Burning must be at least 75' feet from all dwelling units on land and approximate to the place of generation without causing a nuisance.
5) Materials to be burned are limited to brush & tree limbs.
6) Permission MUST be obtained for EACH day of burning.
7) Open burning may be canceled at any time due to the changing weather conditions.
8) This permit does not release the holder from any liability for any damage due to burning.
9) Any violation to the burning rules will result in revocation of this permit and possible fines.
10) No Permits will be issued after 2 p.m.
11) NO BURNING LEAVES
