The Town of Dighton is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Reserve Police Officer. Reserve Officers’ duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring criminal activity, cruiser patrols, responding to emergency calls, issuing traffic tickets, making arrests, investigating crimes and testifying in court as needed as well as providing traffic and work crew safety for third party details. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen at least 21 years of age, have at least an associate’s degree from an institution of higher learning and/or be a veteran of the U.S. Military with honorable discharge status, and have attended and completed an MPTC Reserve-Intermittent Academy. In addition, they must possess a valid MA driver's license, a First Responder and CPR certificate as well as be duly
licensed to carry a firearm in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Successful candidates will also be required to undergo a physical agilities test, full medical physical exam and psychological exam to be completed at their own expense before beginning any in-house or field training. Completed applications will be accepted between Monday July 27, 2015 and Thursday August 13, 2015 by no later than 4:00pm. This application should be submitted in a sealed envelope and handed to the Chief of Police or any Sergeant.
